I just spent some time in Eastern North Carolina and my trip to Morehead City produced some fun finds to share here! Evans Street had a lot of action along the water, with cute shops, good restaurants, and beautiful water views.
My first stop was Arts & Things–an art studio and an art supply store. Since I am physically incapable of entering an art store and not taking something home, I picked up some watercolors and a few Copic markers (I have admitted my addiction to art supplies and pens here on Save Snail Mail before!).
My next stop was Olde Towne Theatre Antiques. I always check out the post card selection in antique shops and I picked up this unused one from Perugia, Italy:
…and this awesome envelope mailed in 1958 (sans postage stamp):
I just love the woman’s sexy colonial outfit!
At Dee Gee’s Gifts & Books, they had, appropriately, both books and gifts. But a sign at the top of the stairs pointed to my favorite section….stationery! Given that stationery was not their only offering, they did have a nice wall of notecards. Here’s half the wall:
From the wall, I bought some bunny notes I’ll share in another post. For now, I leave you with pictures from another art gallery featuring blue marlin and aquatic art. They had a few snail mail-themed gems:
And the studio received mail in this:
Snail mail fun can be had in the unlikliest of places!
